The Bible...not the glasses. Although, I need those too, so I probably should treasure them from a practical standpoint. Without them, I wouldn't be able to read! And then I would be a horrible archivist/librarian one day.

Day 06: Amelia for a Day

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.

Amelia Earhart. Hands down. Just think of all the places she's been. Of all the things she's seen. I feel a special connection to this woman -- like we are kindred spirits of the vagabond variety. I would fly. And fly. And fly some more.

Day 05: Memory, All Alone in the Moonlight.

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.

...or sunlight rather. My favorite memory is my time that I spent on the island of Grenada when I was in high school. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the feelings it gave me. And most of all, the beautiful, beautiful people. I was swept up in it all. It was my first trip outside the United States and I caught the wanderlust. I would give anything to go back there. Or live there.

Day 03: TV

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

Ok, so this isn't the whole cast, but I love this photo of Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion. They play Detective Beckett and Richard Castle on Castle. I'm in love! So in love that I watch the episodes on Hulu at 6:30 am on Tuesday (I'm in a meeting when the show airs on ABC).

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest.

That would be Maggie. We've been friends since we met at play group when we were four. This is us at our senior prom -- 14 years later. So many good times and SO much laughter!

Giving In...The 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 1: A picture of yourself with fifteen facts.

This is me. Driving my truck (with my lefthand only -- I can't drive with my right). Wearing sunglasses.

1. Jesus is the lover of my soul. I place all my faith in him.

2. I love history. It's so sequential. Something happens. And then something else happens. Thanks First Guy, for writing history down!

3. My favorite color is yellow.

4. I absolutely despise birthday cake.

5. I have an irrational fear of gas stations and/or being convicted of a crime I didn't commit.

6. I tie my shoes with two loops because I don't know how to tie them with one.

7. I believe in the Loch Ness Monster.

8. My sister and I have the same initials: HEG

9. Amelia Earhart is my hero.

10. If I have a daughter, I'm naming her Lola, after my great-grandmother.

11. I have so many sweaters it should be illegal.

12. I would listen to vinyl over mp3s any day.

13. I can't dance.

14. I have an odd affinity for campaign buttons...and clocks.

15. I'm moving to Bloomington, Indiana in August to complete a dual masters degree program! AHH!

Failure in Human Interaction

If human interaction was a class, I would fail. Big fat F.

I rarely speak my mind. I don't know why, I just don't.

I don't ask questions. Or even know the right questions to ask.

I'm so sensitive that I become insensitive to others.

I don't make friends easily.

I don't make a good first impression.

I'm usually lost in my own world.

I have hard time articulating what I actually mean. I would rather write it.

Class participation makes me nervous. And yes, I'm going to graduate school.

To all those who I have offended (I'm sure it's a lot)...I'm sorry.

Dear Ben Gibbard, your music is the soundtrack to my life. I cannot believe Death Cab for Cutie is going to film their music video live and in one take! It's gonna be awesome! 5 April -- which coincidently is One Day Without Shoes -- I will be tuning in to watch this video and I will be barefoot!
